Interior Designer, 10+ Years Experience

We are currently seeking an Interior Designer with 10+ years of experience specializing

in corporate and institutional interiors. BA of Interior Design is preferred. This position

requires an organized, self-motivated, independent Designer with excellent interpersonal

skills. This full-time position requires a highly motivated individual who can work

effectively as either a team leader or a team member in the development of design and

documentation for both new construction and renovation projects.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable with client interactions/coordination, working

and communicating with consultants, managing projects through construction completion

and working both collaboratively and independently. The ideal candidate should also

possess strong design and planning skills, have a thorough understanding of construction

documents, be knowledgeable of State of Connecticut Building Codes and have

experience with the design of projects within existing buildings.
 

Requirements:

  • Degree in Interior Design from an accredited university.

  • NCIDQ certification preferred

  • Minimum 10 years of professional interior design experience (post-graduation), including documentation and construction administration experience.

  • Sound understanding of the interior design process including programming, spaceplanning and design development with a concentration on Corporate andInstitutional design.

  • Development of Construction Documents.

  • Skill with finish and material selections and specifications.

  • Experience with furniture and fabric selection and specifications.

  • Familiarity with systems furniture and specifications is desirable.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools.

  • Highly professional demeanor.

  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written, including fluency in the English language.

Full-time position, working in-person at our office.

Available for occasional travel for out-of-state projects.

Physical Requirements:

The position requires occasional work in the field to confirm existing conditions and to observe construction progress. Field work is required in the inspection of construction sites.
Candidate must be able to:

Climb ladders; lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; sit, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel and Crouch.

Move safely over uneven terrain or in small spaces.

Candidates must have U.S. citizenship or current authorization to work in the U.S.

Project Architect, 5+ Years Experience

Project Architect / Project Manager with 5+ years of experience in the development of working drawings for small to large scale commercial and institutional projects. Requirements:

  • Degree in Architecture from an NAAB-accredited university.

  • Minimum 5 years of professional architecture experience (post-graduation), including documentation and construction administration experience.

  • Working knowledge of state and local building codes and accessibility requirements.

  • Extensive skills in the use of both AutoCAD and Revit.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools.

  • Highly professional demeanor.

  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written, including fluency in the English language.
